MySQL Database Restore

Problem:

How do I restore a previously-saved MySQL Database?

Solution:

This procedure will allow you to import an exported database in .sql format into an existing database on your hosting account.

  1. Login to your cPanel.
  2. Navigate to the "Databases" category in cPanel.
  3. Select the "phpMyAdmin" icon.
  4. On the left, select the database you wish to import to.
  5. Select "Import", at the top.
  6. Select the "Browse" button, and select your desired .sql file.
  7. Select the "Go" button at the bottom right to begin importing.
  8. Note: This can take a significant period of time, depending on the size of the file being imported, the number of operations the .sql file must perform, and a number of other variables.

Note: You may only import .sql files up to 50MB in size with this tool.
